Design Wizard (Spec‑Kit)

Plan features with a guided Software Design Document (SDD) workflow integrated into the Hive IDE.

The DESIGN button opens a guided wizard that wraps the Specify CLI (Spec‑Kit). It helps you create or update a software design document safely and repeatably.

Key Capabilities

  • Idempotent actions — create new spec or fill missing sections only
  • Auto‑detect existing spec fields (Vision, Users & Stories, Acceptance Criteria)
  • Target spec selection and contract scaffolding
  • Undo friendly — no destructive overwrites without confirmation

Recommended Flow

  1. Click DESIGN in the left sidebar
  2. Create a new spec (or select an existing one)
  3. Fill out wizard fields and generate the SDD
  4. Use the Consensus panel to implement features with multi‑AI validation
